When I got more serious about photography as a hobby I bought a new 70-200 2.8 IS II.

My friends were quick to give the lens a nick name, "the pedo lens"

Picking up a 300 2.8 and 200-400 didn't help and they absolutely love the 600 f4! lol :)

This isn't so much related to a big lens, but I think it is appropriate for the thread. I was asked to get some photos of co-workers doing their thing in the office. I showed up with a 1970s vintage film camera, wide angle zoom, and a thyristor flash. One of the subjects said, "Wow! That is a fancy professional camera." He was shocked when I told him, "I think all of this cost $50 on E-bay."

I was asked to post this here when I posted it in the joke section as a true story.

I was photographing my nephews son at a kiddie park with my 5D mkIV and 200mm F2L when I was approached by an attractive young lady. I figured she was going to ask me about setting up a shoot with her child....instead she looked down at my combo and asked “Is it big enough”? I responded with “Well most women seem to think so”! All she could do was blush and walk away.

Thanks for reviving this thread!

It's my life and I'll get pissed if I want to.

Haha, 70-200s of any type often get that nickname, and it never stops being stupidly funny :-P:-P

Maybe the world can still look beautiful tomorrow...
