You guys JUST need more Arches... we're highly lacking arch photos around here... How come you guys (and gals) don't come to Arches anymore? I don't smell that bad!!!

I did not light this one - it was some completely random couple from Texas that showed up, and as usual, started waving a light in all directions, reminded me of a scene from a 1980's horror film - but, they lived, because we ended up chatting it up and they drove off into the night - so lucky!!

Nice image despite the extra light!

What's the correct etiquette for lighting an area?

Interesting . . . you went into the monster's mouth to take this picture but now you better get out quick before it eats the young woman or you'll get swallowed too.

I don't know anything. But I know other things.

Well - the parks services says "No" - Most photographers and people around don't really care that much... it's fine when you have 2-3 like minded photographers and you just end up working together and making new friends... Every once in a while you get the uptight Mr. Grumpy, so best to go somewhere else or come back. The other challenge is making sure you've actually spoken with everyone that is going to be affected... delicate is a zoo until about 12-1am... most people bug out... the windows - there can be people there all night, especially on new moon situations. Tonight I had the entire place to myself due to being a waxing bright moon... There are less intrusive ways, such as an rgb panel with minimal brightness that's diffused/spread out, rather than waving a flashlight all over..

Where is this?

I just wrote this up for my Instagram page:

The Stawamus Chief towers 700 meters over the town of Squamish, BC at the north end of the Howe Sound and the Squamish River estuary.

Monsoon "season" = best sunsets!!! Even better than this though - meeting people from all around the world. Had some great conversation with some kids from China and a couple from Italy...
