Are you fueling an airplane?

seems like it when opening the wallet....
funny thing is when fuel prices hit NZ$3.50/litre a few months back there was such a huge public backlash that the Govt. agreed to "temporarily" reduce the amount of tax on fuel so it dipped below NZ$3.00
Since then, the fuel companies have just been steadily increasing the prices so if/when the temp tax reduction does get removed, we're in for a bit of a shock I think.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

$3.00 a liter sounds good until you realize there are 3.78 liters per gallon
I'm paying $6.05 per gallon /4 = @1.51 per liter
if my math skills are correct (they are a bit dodgy  )

It looks like we are getting by better than the rest of the world.

I don't even want to imagine those kinds of fuel prices. . How can a commoner, working for near minimum wage, ever afford to road trip around the continent?

I am truly poor, by just about any definition, but somehow I still manage to spend most of my life driving from one coast to another, 5,000 kilometers apart, a couple times each year, detouring all around and photographing wildlife along the way. . I don't see how an entry-level worker guy like me could ever do that if fuel were $3.50 per litre. . Even $5.00 a gallon is freaking killing me and keeping me from roaming as much as I would like to from day to day. . At $3.50 a litre, a poor guy would barely be able to afford to go on any road adventures at all.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

As to the timing of posts...

Yes, there is a lag time.. I'm not always around, conscious or even concerned :p
Sometimes I have no clue about themes.. Sometimes I have other obligations.
Sometimes, I just plain forget ...

Yes photos should have a time stamp from the Monday no later than sunset.. whenever that is for you.
I'd rather see people participate and bend the "rules" a bit. I do like to draw the line at archived photos,
as the "rules" read, this is about getting the ol' camera out and shooting something that you might not otherwise shoot.

Carry On...

Options include using electric vehicles or hybrids, going by motorcycle, and pooling with other travelers. Poor worker guys can't do a lot of things that richer guys do–no surprise there–and this extends to transportation as well as to food and housing. Anyway, the more gasoline is used for road trips or anything else, the worse shape the world will be in, including its wildlife.

It recently dropped to CDN $1.99 per litre here.....lots of people are calling for the gov. to reduce the tax on it. I would think that the duel companies would do the same here, just slowly increase prices, especially as were are now into the summer road trip season.

Reducing the tax on it is what they also did in the Netherlands. It is a stupid populistic idea that only appeals to the people which don't see the consequences for in the long run. Yeah the prices dropped here by about 50 cents per litre but for how long? Two weeks maybe. Now it's again at an all time high and the taxes needs to be increased again to their normal standards. I'd rather pay some more tax then giving the oil companies the opportunity to raise their prices. Hypothetically speaking the taxes I pay should also improve my life, and not only that of an oil bozo.
