Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Broken. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us Broken..

Here are the rules:
1. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives.

2. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you).
3. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
4. Post your shots at any time during the week.
5. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

To make sure the thread stays unbroken - a contribution. My stack of mostly broken old laptops. Why do I still have them? Because one never knows when one might need to salvage a stick of 250 MB DDR2 RAM, or a 10 GB IDE hard drive, or a telephone modem ... . (Species: Packus Rattus)

Two of my sons started out on a 90+ mile backpacking trip around Mount Rainier. Heard from the youngest from a hotel in Tacoma, he is broken. Hurt his knee in the snow. He sent a photo of his brother though.

Sorry to hear about your son getting injured but that is an epic hike!

I heard there is still a lot of snow on Rainier .. and if it isn't snow it's loose shale.
My nephew does a lot of ice climbing up there.

Sorry his trip was cut short :-(

Broken oak. This oak split earlier this week, probably due to the drought.

A broken cannon carriage (cast iron garrison type) on a walk today. It dates from the early 1800s based on design, but one of those cannon on the other side of the path (first on the left) is stamped 1708 - photo below. These hills were the scene of battles between the French and British during "Queen Anne's War', and several others.

Assume that's Queen Anne's royal insignia above the date, though the details have broken down with the centuries.

Hurricane Darby passed by and even though no real storm touched our island, the tide surge made a breaking impact. The ocean came over the land and spilled into the parking lot at our local park.

Glad you're safe. I saw some video of the surge, looked exciting.

though none shown, those look olde enough to have serial ports!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
