Americans attend more to the central or prominent objects in a picture. People in other cultures give more consideration to other elements and the picture as a whole. Maybe this is why so many images in the Flowers thread center a single big bloom in the frame, with a neutral background that lacks detail. Its less ethnic-centric, but visual illiteracy to not work with the entire frame. For some reason though, I agree that many more people in older cultures have more appreciation for composition. Photo art from Vietnam and China is amazing and respected. multidisciplinary visual guy, professor of visual art, irresponsible and salty.

unclejohn Goldmember More info | Yea eye travel!!! In my theory of composition, based on axioms that the eye is lazy and not very smart, all you need to do is to make the image a comfortable place for the eye to explore. I don't know anything. But I know other things.
