Main St, Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Lots of Disney/Orlando history in that window.... these were shell companies that Walt Disney used to buy up land in Orlando, M.T. Lott being the major one used. At the time, the land was essentially swamp so it was dirt cheap, but he knew people would jack up their prices if they found out he was planning to build a park there. It wasn't until a reporter put everything together and outted the shell companies that belonged to Disney that locals caught on and the last few acres of land he purchased were astronomically more expensive than the vast majority of Disney property he had already acquired.
Most of the windows down Main St, are clad with names major players that made Walt Disney World happen, including Walt's name over the Ice Cream Shop (because he loved Ice Cream).
Thanks for the story—it gives a nice context to the picture.
