Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Looking Down. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us something while Looking Down

Here are the rules:
1. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives.

2. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you).
3. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
4. Post your shots at any time during the week.
5. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

I hope the primary subject is allowed? I can't remember if a pocket knife is considered a no-no? I take a shot each day of my everyday carry. It's usually from the 'looking down' perspective.

Yes, that has haunted me for weeks because it was so perfect for what I have been shooting this summer, but for whatever reason I wasn't able to post that week. . SO GLAD to see this topic come back around so soon because I am back home in WA now and I should be able to shoot and participate in this one, and I love the topic.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Looking down at the sidewalk under a bus shelter. Not recommended.

Looking down with my mobile phone cam during a doggie walk yesterday. A throw-away snapshot of the dog until I realized that the shadow said a bit too much about my life: two leashes pulling in opposing directions, a too-heavy camera on my shoulder, baggy old-man shorts, holding a poop bag. -?

If you had all of these at your disposal, which would you use?

Thank you. Your comment is another response.

Of course I found the mess disgusting, but what to do besides tsk-tsking about someone's irresponsibility? Try to get a composition out of it, that's what. Hmm . . . negative space . . . use the isolated objects at edges to suggest the force when all these things were dropped . . .

That pear doesn't look bad. . If I looked down and saw that, I would likely pick it up, take a test bite to see if it was ripe, and then eat the whole thing if it was.

Were you at least a little tempted to do the same?

No. It must have been dirty. I don't like to see food wasted, but the negatives outweighed the possible benefits. No way to wash it there, no knowledge of why it was discarded (contamination by unknown substances?), and my teeth-cleaning tools were at home.

You don't need a test bite. Ripeness is easy to judge by smell and pressure.
