End of the Trettach valley, Bavaria.

I hope this isn't the end of the series! Great photo!

Thanks!! I've been chasing that shot for over a year!! Now I want one with bigger lightning, but - I think monsoon season might be winding down...

Amazing effort! Good luck!

You know how it goes: If you want THE shot = multiple trips to the same locations ... I think I'm > 115 trips to Arches in 14 months.. :-D

That’s it exactly, I scouted the one below for the better part of a year. Finally got it in the dead of winter. Quite old of course.

Nice work!!

That's the stuff I love - it's that journey/chase for the best shot!!

Strangely - to be "philosophical" - it's sort of bittersweet when ya DO finally get that shot... but - it's the journey/process that keeps me going - to be the best one can be with the tools/opportunity at hand

I agree, very bittersweet. Once you get THAT shot it sort of marks the end is the spot as well. By definition it will be hard to top it.

Hi Steffen, according to Google Maps, Mt. Jefferson is about 45 miles (72.6 km) away. So yes, the visibility was excellent on this day.

Tschüss !

Mike
