Two more. AF was faster and more consistent with birds on the water.

This Owl has been visiting the neighbor's roof on occasion. I had to get on a ladder and shoot through some branches to get the roof as a background and avoid the overcast sky.

This morning I rolled over 10,000 shots on my R7.

How many of those were mechanical shutter? Will it last until the Mark II comes out?

A couple with the Tampon 18-400. My wife uses it with a 77D when we travel since it's light and she doesn't have to bother with changing lenses. She has trouble getting AF points on the subject, so I was hoping the R7 would be a a good replacement. The Tamron is not a bad little lens, but it doesn't seem to play all that well with the R7. AF is somewhat hit and miss when using subject tracking, but generally seems fine using single-point without tracking. But a couple of times it acted very erratically when I put it on after using an RF lens. I had to pull the battery after which it settled down. Maybe there is a n update for the lens firmware, but I'll need to get a dock.

First one is a 22MP crop and the second is 11.2MP

I'm glad someone can tolerate this hot weather in the NE US. It depletes my enthusiasm for anything but air conditioning. Things should get a lot better starting Friday, though, and the birds should start moving, too, with northerly winds.

Virtually all were mechanical. I use ES with burst mode and have done about 100 bursts. Since I do BIF I don't like the rolling shutter I get on the wings or even on buildings as I am panning quickly

After a recent visit to Lesser florican and Green Munia bird.. got some beautiful clicks of the bird with New R7 & Canon 100 - 400 IS ii lens. I am here posting one of Green Munia's male photos. The bird was sitting on a rock and the light was low due to monsoon weather at the Mt. Abu location. I clicked all photos in CR3 and almost no lag or buffer issues during the tour. Eye tracking is ultimate and sticky. But if the bird is very far then eye tracking is not that up to the mark. but overall good experience. I was worried about ISO performance but yet I am happy with it. till 3200 noise is easily manageable in 3rd party noise-removing software. I had 7d mark ii, 80d, and 90d in past and I must say it a definitely a good upgrade from it. Yes but don't compare R7 with full frame hence crop and full frame both have their advantages and disadvantages. In fact, also used it with 1.4 extender mark iii and it didn't cause any eye tracking issues and the focus speed was almost the same will share other photos as time permits. Here this image is cropped and post-processed in LR & Topaz denoise.

Exif - SS 1/640s, F6.3, ISO 1000
