(5 edits in all) | Aug 15, 2022 14:35 | #17288 I have been reading a lot about people's experiences with the Sigma 150-600c and 60-600s lenses on the Canon R5 or R6, using the Canon EF-RF adapter. One such is a review of the 150-600c on the Canon R5 by popular Australian photographer Duade Paton in a video: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbnwmFKF8ow&t=8s Image hosted by forum (1173567) © Tronhard [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Aug 15, 2022 17:20 | #17289 Super nice sharp image of the female Superb Fairy Wren, Richard! I really like her pose. She stands out beautifully from the excellent bokeh. What a killer portrait shot of the Canada goose, fotoi! He/she looks so alive. Incredibly nice shot of this little beauty, Steve! It's amazing how lifelike this Gnatcatcher appears. Oops...not image, Jan! It apparently failed to load. Terrific capture of the Carolina Chickadee, Wallace! Very sharp image. jimmy_racoon wrote in post #19415831 American goldfinch ![]() Beautiful capture,, Jimmy! This shot is very cool looking with all the yellow. jcothron wrote in post #19415834 eastern towhee These guys are hard to catch in the clear, they spend most of their time in the bushes and on the ground. ![]() A-1 shot of the eastern towhee, John! Chris L F wrote in post #19415890 Trying out the new camera. ![]() The new camera is working well for you, Chris. Nice shot of the hen mallard! Two nice hummer shots, Terry. You mentioned the fact that the R7 has it's drawbacks. Since I've been looking hard at this camera, I'm curious to know what drawbacks you are referring to. I would appreciate your thoughts about the R7. Thanks. Tronhard wrote in post #19415903 I have been reading a lot about people's experiences with the Sigma 150-600c and 60-600s lenses on the Canon R5 or R6, using the Canon EF-RF adapter. One such is a review of the 150-600c on the Canon R5 by popular Australian photographer Duade Paton in a video: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbnwmFKF8ow&t=8s So, I decided to take a combination of the 60-600s along with an R5 and R6 to a gannet colony close to where I live. Without doubt, the lens, used with the Canon basic EF-RF adapter, was not as fast at acquiring focus as the native RF 100-500 lens, which is an amazing optic. However it performed acceptably - according to my statistics I got about 72% with a lock on the Sigma, and 84% lock with the RF 100-500 lens - the keeper rates is as much a function of the speed of these birds rocketing along and photographer error, so it was pretty good at getting the shots. However, in support of Duade's experience, at very close quarters, the lens did on a few occasions, pulse. So, here are a few of images of my experience. Both of these Gannet shots appear sharp and very nicely photographed, Trevor! LD, or Mike
