Not that I get to critique someone with 8000+ posts, but since the ball is (maybe) in better focus than the pitcher, I'll accept it as meeting the intent of this thread, which you obviously understood (first post in awhile that does so).


Actually pretty cool ... I've not tried the "frozen ball" shot from that angle. Were you shooting through the fence? With my 70D, a 300mm lens, and 1.4X teleconverter, I still need to crop for that picture.

Cool. Probably not the intent of the thread I know. This is maybe fair at best. I thought the foot dragging the rubber might be sharper. Your call delete or not. I’m good with either. My post count matters not. It’s the quality that counts. Thanks.

Well done. I like the batter in the picture for context, and so it's out of focus at both ends.

And here I was about to suggest that the thread be renamed to "sports pictures taken at fast shutter speed and with a high enough f-number that the ball is coincidentally in focus despite not being the primary subject of the picture, thus resulting in a picture that, while nice, does not meet the challenge intended by the thread. Or SPTAFSSAWAHEFNTTBICIFD​NBTPSOTPTRIAPTWNDNMTCI​BTT for short.

When it's done well, the ball just looks so odd just hanging there!

Decided to play a little tonight and was able to get 3 shots.
