Most of the time, the focus is quick and accurate using a Kipon adapter

I keep it wide open, so I dont know about auto apertur

So you control the aperture from your EF body then transfer your EF lens to your GFX body?

Would you happen to know at what focal length hard (not soft) vignetting will start to bother you?

I also notice your shutter is at 1/500 was that intentional to offset the 0.8 crop factor to avoid lens blur?

Have you used the Fringer GFX body to EF lens adapter that allows for electronic aperture & focus control?

I get electric aperture control using either the kipon or techart adapters.

These shots were handheld with enough light to get good shutter speed. I wasn’t paying much attention to it really. Same with vignetting.

Usually around 35mm or wider, the vignetting kicks in. Its bad on the 28 Otus for example.

Here is f4 example in Seattle

Thank you for the reply. So anything wider than 35mm is when vignetting becomes noticeable on EF lenses.

I read that Canon tiltshift lenses like the TS-E 17mm f/4L suffers little to none of this.

After my last reply I was looking on Facebook for local pricing of the GFX 50S II & GFX 100 when I stumbled upon a sale in the country I am right now.

Below is the year of release, model # & US$ vs ₱ price. Click link for details & freebies

2021 GFX 50S II $3,499 (external link) vs ₱198,990 (external link)
2021 GFX 100S $5,999 (external link) vs ₱329,990 (external link)
2019 GFX 100 $9,999 (external link) vs ₱399,990 (external link)
2017 GFX 50S $5,499 (external link) vs ₱166,990 (external link)

Using a forex of ₱56.03 = US$1.00 the converted ₱ price in US$ with freebies would be

2021 GFX 50S II $3,551.50
2021 GFX 100S $5,889.53
2019 GFX 100 $7,138.86
2017 GFX 50S $2,980.37

If you aren't aware of what "medium format (crop)" is here is a chart to compare the image sensor sizes of cameras you may be using.

I don't believe that would w0ork. EOS apertures are spring loaded to be "always wide open" they only stop down when taking a photo, after focus is achieved.

I stumbled upon SeattleSpeedster's work when I was looking over the Canon EF 200mm f/1.8L USM gallery. I was surprised that he was using a Fujifilm GFX 50S & GFX 100 body with it.

I always wanted to go medium format but replicating my EF L lenses onto FujiFILM, Hassleblad, Leica or Pentax system made zero sense to me.

For nearly 2 decades Nothern Lights (external link) held out hope that Canon would offer a medium format crop or full frame of their own.

Sure it will not happen today using a EF mount but I'd buy one yesterday if it was a RF mount. I do not mind if there is heavy vignetting on a EF 35mm or wider lenses. They could correct for this with all RF L lenses.

This Youtube reviewer pointed out that the AF system of the 2021 GFX bodies pale in comparison to anything Canon has so if you are getting Fuji's medium format this is really for stationary subjects.
