After the recent forest fires and heatwave, it's been nice to have some cooler weather and subdued light to photograph these Kingfishers....

California Valley Quail

Barred Owl--from this morning's outing. It was a pretty quiet morning you could hear the duck wings beating their flight over my head and across the sky. Then the ruckus started the crows were cawing like crazy. I walked down to the tree lined area to see what was bothering the crows and discovered this barred owl perched in a tree just on the edge of the marsh. He was in the shadows and this photo was shot with 25000 ISO to get shutter speed up.
