A couple of panoramas from Thursday night... both shot with the EOS R and Samyang 24mm f/1.4.

The first is a wide pano of the Milky Way core above Wivenhoe Dam (west of Brisbane):

And the second is a narrower view with the Southern Cross and Pointers reflected in the dam:

Beutiful! Fantastic location for your shots

Thank you - I would love to try a milky way shot at Stonehenge - its a bit of a trek but would be worth it if I could pull it off

It is better in the later end of the 'season' rather than early on. I've done it for Milky Way & Orion.

Certainly more exposure required. You ideally want the right side of your histogram to be somewhere close to the middle.

Nice one - so perhaps still an opportunity this year to have a go.

I never used the histogram so that would help, thank you!

Well, presuming you want to catch the core in the image. If not I guess you could go another time.

The core would make for a much better photo so I will pull out all stops to get there in the next 2 weeks

My pills started acting up lol... I tried the whole "recalibration" thing and it didn't save or it changes randomly... perhaps time to reinstall.

Mine is the same - not matter how many times I try to calibrate it, it just never seems to be even vaguely close to reality. I too may try reinstalling and learning how to use it would be helpful too :)

Higher iso, faster aperture, darker sky and you will see the difference from your posted shots. If you can’t get all 3 try 1 or 2 of them
