Nice shots!

I strongly agree haha. I'm a skratch DJ myself and nothing will ever take over the pure control, feel and attitude that VINYL has

Man, I just ran across this thread and just finished reading ALL four pages. In my opinion, if vinyl sounded better then it wouldn't have gotten replaced by cassettes and they wouldn't have gotten replaced by cd's. It's like movies, you can't say that DVD's don't look better than VHS, because they do and now HD is the upgrade from that. ALSO....if you're not from the same place that another person is from and/or you don't hang out in the same circle then OBVIOUSLY, you won't know the people that the other person knows. FOR CHRIST SAKE PEOPLE!!!! Lighten up. Just because you THOUGHT that someone was being "high and mighty" doesn't mean they were. All you guys did was make yourselves look high and mighty. But boys will be boys I guess.

Careful spiral..the mods here (and at many, many forums) will gladly ban you for arguing like that..but they will definitely favor the more well known poster (Dwight) and have no problem snuffing you out.

If you haven't noticed, I haven't made a post in this thread for several days. I dropped it, as have many others. It would be nice if those just coming up to this thread would kindly just drop it as well.
Nevertheless, thanks for your concern.

To get back on topic:
I like the last shot without flash. Pretty decent for 1/13s! Handheld?

let this be a lesson boys and girls....all the fancy gear in the world can't replace a solid foundation in the basics of photography. excellent work - I can't tell you how nice it is to see concert/performance photography without flash. flash tears away all of the gorgeous ambient light that sets the mood.

Is that at an art museum? That looks really cool.

Well we turned it into an art museum, hehe. It was a rundown old place in downtown Miami, and we wanted to make something of it. So we borrowed it for one night and made a Celebrating the Arts event, and had artists and photographers display their work, and we had the DJs spinning to add to the more urban and down-to-earth feel of it than your typical art museum per se. We had a bigger turnout than we expected, and got a lot of positive feedback for it, so we're hosting another one this month.

That's really cool. We did something similar, but not in a place that looks like that.

It's been a little while since I've taken any DJ pics, but as soon as I purchase a new camera to replace the one that just died, I'll be back with some new ones. ;-)a
