Chatham Maritime Marina. August 2022. Chatham. Kent. UK.

A short series of pictures from a walk around the marina.

Extract from marina website:- Chatham Maritime Marina, on the river Medway in Kent, offers first-class berthing and marina services at the heart of a multi-million-pound leisure and retail development that’s set to become a major waterfront attraction.

Following expansion, the marina now has 412 berths and is close to a factory outlet shopping complex, multiscreen cinema, and numerous restaurants and bars. There's also a local convenience store stocking essential items, with other facilities planned.

Boatyard Facilities
The marina has excellent facilities for boat repairs or maintenance work, with a dedicated DIY area, storage ashore for over 100 boats along with a 16.5-ton crane, a hydraulic boat mover and yacht cradles. There is also a purpose-built lifting dock accessible at all states of tide. You’ll find a professional, highly-qualified MDL team on hand at the yard to carry out any lifting. Both petrol and diesel are available, enabling you to make the most of your cruising rather than making special journeys for fuel.

Vic 96.

Ex Admiralty Victualling Inshore Craft VIC 96 was built for the Navy with economy in mind by Dunston of Thorne in South Yorkshire in May 1945. The VICs were built for the Navy (in order to service the fleet) on a design based on the Clyde Puffers. Use of simple machinery and simplicity of construction enabled a range of modest shipyards to produce VICs during the War making them quick and economic.

You can also cruise on this ... if you are rich enough. I can only dream!

Seen sailing from Copenhagen, heading for Kristiansand. I would have loved to see her with sails up!

With a choice like that Nic, I couldn't afford the sailing dingy. But for the rest, including the Cunard's Queen Victoria???

I think that the harbour bus island looks the more comfortable.

I was going to enter a competition for a cruise one one of those 'things'. The first prize was a 7 day cruise with the second prize being 21 days. I didn't win anything

My ambition for a good while is to grow old disgracefully. So far my wife tells me that I am doing really well!
