Very nice photos Rose
The Shag is really nice. Composition, pose, excellent capture.

Your duck looks like a New Zealand shoveler Anas rhynchotis variegata. Very striking duck.

Interesting clouds. We've been having a lot of rainbows lately and long complete ones like yours.
Attractive landscape.

Thanks Richard.

Shags are good to shoot as they tend to sit for ages, so you can frame up.

Just edited the post, as looked up the duck, and it is a shoveller.

Our weather has been wet, and there was a very cold wind yesterday. I also got wet in a passing shower!

Unfortunately the stitching on the rainbow isn't perfect, and I had good overlap. Tells the story.

Oh wow!!

As Richard said we don't seem to see them down under. Very occasionally I have glimpsed one in passing. Maybe it's because our land is becoming too dry, as I seem to recall seeing more of them when I was a child, tadpoling and such .....

That does surprise me ,perhaps it’s a case of not looking at the right times , even here the life cycle and available viewing time is spread over a very small period . The eggs they lay can take up to two years to emerge . And once emerged the sole purpose seems to be to mate ,lay eggs and die

Here's a couple taken with my new fav, the Olympus 100-400 f5-f6.3. What a sharp lens one end to the other. Half the weight and size of my previous setup of a RF 100-500L lens which cost me nearly $3k and this lens is every bit as sharp and a LOT easier to handle, especially on my new OM-1. I sold all my Canon gear off after experiencing all this package could do. I now have 6 Pro lenses and a Sigma 56 f1.4 DC for my portrait work.
