Clipper, Lyn, Pippan, Richard, Ozulrike, - to name a few - Great shots all.

Re that ‘posing post’ If I didn’t know you guys better I would suspect someone is using taxidermists stuffed birds in a secret studio location for tourism shots.:-)

Haha, but no need. That boy comes to his post on command!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Lyn that sure is a very pretty parrot
I love the setting. You did very well with your composition.

Is that holly leaved grevillea?
It's a delicate one. Looks like the bird loves them

Thanks Richard. I was in the Botanical Garden of Mt Cootha, and unfortunately I didn't see a sign with the name by this one. The Rosella liked it so much, he didn't mind me taking photos.

Taxidermy? Haha, where is the fun it that? We just enjoy sitting or walking for hours in the heat and humidity accompanied by mozzies and midges to get these shots :-P:-P

Black Breasted Buzzard on a nest building twig run- Lee Point . Another shot I can thank canons animal eye AF for. I had one chance at getting this in a clearing that gave 2 seconds max room before he disappeared behind branches and the eye tracking nailed the shot. I should be used to this by now but it still amazes me how little time the AF needs to nail the focus . Infact I was Back button focusing before I even had my eye into the viewfinder properly and it got it. And where it is indispensable is when shooting at narrow apertures like f4- f5.6 when the bird has a wide wing span and when using my dslr's they would usually get the af lock on the wing rather than the eye.

Thanks Pippan! Hahaha, yes, I am sure I have seen a very similar photo by Clipper and maybe even you? :-P

Im sure the clearing and perch where he lands was build by universal studios its that perfect a landing place for photographers:) However the shadows and lack of detail are the killer of many shots in that clearing but you overcame that issue perfectly by good PP. Cant say that for many of my shots there though :)

BTW I wouldnt be surprised if Parks NT closed the track where he is (for a couple of weeks ) to give the poor bird a rest from us all hahahah

many thanks Clipper for your kind, encouraging words. :-)

This one was an unusual display from a male Superb Fairy Wren today
there was a female he was interacting with but no idea what this was about.
Not the first time I've seen that stance

You must be psychic. As a tour operator, I got an email from Parks a few days ago saying: "Please be advised that the Fogg Dam Bridge (Southern Walk) – Woodland to Waterlillies, will be closed in the interest of Public Safety, for a two week period from Monday, 29 August 2022."

Maybe they meant in the interests of flycatcher well-being.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
