(no, it wasn't a hot pixel) I tried using my sky map app to see if it's something significant, but no luck. This turned out to be ~1600mm. (Used the 400 prime and stacked two 2x TC's) I think I saw something about Antares being in close proximity last night.

I suppose it could be that it is just so sharp that lots of tiny craters are visible, but I don't think there are that many.

Thank you! I saw someone post something on here about having a higher shutter speed when it’s near the horizon, and I thought..why don’t I do that all the time. And it definitely helped!

golfecho (I will regret that) More info | Sep 04, 2022 07:42 | #7559 So I pulled out my 600mm lens that I intended to use to shoot the Artemis 1 launch (which didn't). It was attached to my full spectrum IR modified EOS-R. Sky clear, so I wondered what the moon would look like with the IR mod. I used a filter that allows UV below about 350NM, and allows near IR above about 720NM. Not the best optics, but I'll take it . . .

hobs1466 Member More info Post edited over 1 year ago by hobs1466. | Yeah, looks good to me too. Of course being at 800mm instead of 300mm helps too, but I am definitely going to try faster shutter speeds the next time. Just have to figure out how to deal with the noise. All of these high ISO shots look much cleaner than what I have produced so far when I tried originally. My background was clearly mottled instead of black.
