Thank you Pippan!

How do I go about finding one to add to my camera?

I use the Canon Connect app on my phone, which generally works for me.

Age is a state of mind, and I don't.

I just downloaded that app and installed it. It does not want to connect to my camera. I went thru the steps shown on the camera but it never connected. Is it that difficult to get it to connect??

Camera just told me to start over. Do I connect with WPS (PBC mode) or WPS (PIN mode)??
(currently on (PBC mode)

Also instructions on camera says to "Connect by pressing WPS button on wireless LAN terminal"

Where in the world is the "WPS button on the wireless LAN terminal"??

What is the wireless LAN terminal????

Thank you for any help you can give me!

Hey Charles,

My experience is that my camera will connect to my phone via that app provided I follow all the steps exactly. You need to prepare beforehand to know where everything is so you can do the steps properly.

However, I found that when you turn your back on the camera for a few minutes and let it go to sleep, the connection is lost, and then it is hard to know where exactly to enter the instruction set to get connected again. If you just try things (the usual resort), it usually won't work. Starting all over does work, provided you follow all those steps again without error.

So once you are connected, you have to run all your shots with some haste so that the camera (maybe the phone too) does not have a chance to go to sleep. Depending on the circumstances, that can add a bit of stress to the shoot.

I found it such a big hassle, that I finally gave up and have not done it again.

Yep, that's why I said it's a pain to use regularly. I don't even use it irregularly anymore.

Sounds like the best thing to do is just uninstall the program!-?-?

Well, how about spending some time with it and learning its secrets, and then advising us what to do after the connection is lost? We would really appreciate it. :-) ;-)a

Too late, I already uninstalled it. I was never a computer geek and able to learn difficult programs so I would not have been able to learn any secrets...

I use it as a remote shutter and focus, though it does seem a little finicky from time to time. Haven't tried the GPS feature yet.

That's why I've never played with Camera Connect anywhere outside the studio, where I have the time and visibility to babysit it.

I can't image just setting it up in the field, then putting the phone in my pocket, expecting it to transmit GPS data to the camera for the rest of the day.

I spent most of the time trying to shoot around people, but I did shoot a few of the folks on the observation deck. Gave me a chance to play with my EF-S 10-22mm
