I put 3 through college and one through law school, the middle guy is still going to college, a pro student...

and now I am on social security, I would also love the 100-500 but too much money for the extra I would get over my 100-400Lii and I still have the 90D and 5DIV that I use it on

My youngest wants to go to medical school. Good to know there's hope. :-)

After buying the R7 + RF-S 18-150 kit, plus a spare Canon battery, plus couple of UHS-II memory cards, I was hoping to put a pause on the camera gear spending for a bit. But I sold my 7DII a week ago, and the proceeds from that will cover the RF 100-400 at the current sale price. So I'm justifying that as a trade rather than a new purchase.

But you bring up a good point, whether I should keep the Sigma 100-400. The only true EF body I have now is an EOS 100 film body that I haven't used in probably four or five years. I can still use the Sigma with an adapter on my M5 or Sony. My older son uses the M5 for astrophotography, so he might get good use from it.

Driving home from meeting the guy who bought my 7DII last week, I suddenly realized that for the first time since I bought a 20D in 2004, I don't have any body that can natively take my EF-S lenses!

Canon EOS R7, M5, 100 (film), and Sony α6400
A bunch of Canon lenses and a couple of Sigmas and Sonys

great shot - which set of eyes did the autofocus focus on ? real or reflection !!!!!!

On the real eyes. He was coming right at me, I guess I set up my chair in the right spot

Hadn't tried a moon shot in many years but decided to point the R7skywards just to give it a try. I still find getting perfect focus difficult on the moon but was happy enough with this

Finally was able to get out and shoot a bit with the R7. There very few birds but it was nice to see how the AF works. Quite a step up from the 80D. I normally use a faster shutter speed but it didn't look like there was going to be any action but then there was. In early morning shade.

I have both. The EF version is sharper, but the RF also does a nice job. If I'm walking and hunting birds, I take the RF simply for the lighter weight. The included photo was taken with the RF.

Has anyone used the RF 1.4x with either the RF 100-400 or the RF 600 f/11?

If you look in the upper right of that post, it tells what post it is in reference to. Click that and you will see what he is answering. A little time consuming, but it answers your question.

My wife has on the RF 100-400 with good results. I have with the 800mm f11. But the 800 f11 only on my R5. I have some very good results with it. You own the RF 1.4, don't you?
