sort of resurrecting an older thread but...

Is the R6 totally quiet in ES mode and does it have a MS?

I like my R7 when in ES mode I can have it make a sound as it activates the ES. Is the R6 totally quiet?

If it is I wonder if they will add it in the rumored R6 Mark II ?

I would hardly consider the R6 owners thread as "older"
I have both.
The R6 is completely silent in electronic.
Yes, it has a mechanical shutter, and is significantly quieter than the R7.

R6 in ES mode is completely silent, but you only get to choose between 1 shot or 20 FPS ... nothing in between. The R6 also has MS (1 shot, 3 FPS, 12 FPS).

I seldom use my EF 100mm Macro these days. All taken with the RF-100-500 at 500mm and f/7.1.

To demonstrate to the world that the R6 with legacy EF glass works fine, I took myself to the zoo to do some shooting. All hand-held, in available light. All lightly processes - cropping, lens corrections, balancing colour and white balance etc. No layers etc. Here are a couple of the results:

A Bearded Dragon Lizard, actual size about 200mm (8") long overall, shot through grubby glass

Next a rare glimpse of an Aussie Tasmanian Devil - normally these chaps prefer nocturnal outings, but this one was soaking up the sun on a rock - very Australian!

I captured this beautiful moment between a giraffe and her baby in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park a couple of weeks ago. I think the baby was just a few days old. If you look carefully you can still see what's left of the umbilical cord.
