Ah very nice. Kookaburras are just big kingfishers anyway!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Thanks Pippan - yes they indeed are.
I'd love to see an Azure though.

Forest Raven ~ Corvus tasmanicus
It says its endemic to Tasmania but I see these are in NSW and other mainland areas

Another one from today....A wild water Buffalo with a couple of cattle egrets on him. - Shooting on a very hot humid day meant massive atmospherics at play which degrades the shot however posting up as its not often I am close enough to a wild buffalo that I can even see the egret let alone get a shot of 2 of them on one! :)....

Lucky he didnt decide to take a closer look either as there was absolutely no cover for me to take refuge behind for at least 300 meters!

This is the male Regent Bowerbird and a close up of the male Satin Bowerbird taken in the Lamington National Park.:-)

The colour of the eye of the SBB is quite stunning.

Cheers

I'm encroaching on Richard's territory here, with these Masked Lapwings taken along the Brisbane River today, outside the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

I love the "Ministry of Silly Walks" shot.

Cheers
