This is sort of a landscape image.

1.2 mile path inside Wormsloe c.1733-1913. The oaks are covered in Resurrection Fern.

That would be a yes. Set it down on the hood to pull out the cell phone and take a snapshot, stupidly enough. Heard it start sliding but I was too far away to catch it. An error message came up, but it cleared when I pulled the battery and put it back in. A little worrisome for a minute there.

I made a rule many years ago to never put anything on the car. When I was doing weddings years ago, I made another rule, to NEVER EVER put gear down on the ground behind the vehicle. That is such a handy spot, right by the trunk. But it is very easy to forget things when you are rushed and stressed. The rule worked. I never ran over my Hasselblad.

I think I learned that one too, now. And it was a fairly big drop to the pavement, from the hood of an Xterra. Good thing cameras are tough. So lesson learned.

I wouldn't mind doing photo tours for those that actually want a non-traditional off the beaten path type of experience...

One other tip:

Leave camera battery door open, and cf/sd card door open, until you're ready to pack up n leave. This way ya don't end up miles down a trail without either... Although obviously wise to keep 2 extra batteries/cards in the bag anyways...
