Not sure if they are unusual, but they are certainly difficult to spot. Hope I will be able to capture a male one day as well as they look just stunning Living in a beautiful part of the world!

In the first pic either a little egret or a snowy egret, it's hard to tell them apart unless they're standing next to each other and a roseate spoonbill. A willet in the 2nd pic. Nice captures! FYI Little Egrets are in Eurasia and are extremely rare on the north Atlantic coast. Time waits for no one!

I like the bird's pose. Ha ha ha...love it. When I first looked at this shot, I thought, what's wrong with this egret's beak...plus it's eye is all deformed. Then I saw the perfect reflection and realized what you had done. Very clever RAL. I really enjoyed this photo. Wonderful shot of the white-winged dove, fotoi! Great capture, flurp! It looks like you really got pretty close to this vulture. I'll bet you could smell him/her. Perfecto, Tom! Lighting, sharpness, background, setting, composition, and everything else! amyandmark3 wrote in post #19431665 Thanks Mike. I had heard that there were some showing up, so I took a drive to Lodi to see for myself. I'll go back a few times over the winter once they're there in bigger numbers. Here's another Sandhill Crane from just after sunrise. ![]() Very nice capture, Mark! That early morning, and late afternoon light just can't be beat. This shot absolutely pops, Steve! It is so awesome! Outstanding work! K9Kirk wrote in post #19431720 A couple shots taken at Ft. De Soto this morning. The wildlife appears well. A sanderling taking a stroll along the shoreline. In the 2nd pic is a reddish egret scouting hidden lagoon. These are both terrific shots, Kirk, but the reddish egret scouting the hidden lagoon is a "killer" shot for sure! didgit wrote in post #19431743 Another from the local zoo , a hornbill of some kind I can't remember which. Quite nicely photographed, didgit! This image is really sharp with great lighting! LD, or Mike
