I love the 1st image because of the flying sand and fluttering neck feathers gives it a sense of speed that is largely absent from my bird photography. Visit my Flickr

Thank you, Dolina. I don't capture shots like that often, most of my shots are of birds standing around, also, so it's a real treat when I do capture a bird like that. “You can’t stop what’s comin’; it ain’t all waitin’ on you—that’s vanity.” - Uncle Ellis

K9Kirk wrote in post #19433046 Willet on the run and (correct me if I'm wrong) a black bellied plover. Outstanding captures on both these birds, Kirk! Once again, getting that low camera angle makes for such nice captures. The bird in question looks to me like a female black bellied plover, just as you thought. K9Kirk wrote in post #19433072 A slaty egret (or so my search tells me) standing on what's left of an old weir and an osprey in search of food over the shoreline. The slaty egret is a first for me, Kirk. It appears (from my search) as though you are correct on the name of this bird (slaty egret). On your osprey shot, I really like how you managed to just barely get the one eye peeking thru the wing primaries. Very cool looking shot! LD, or Mike

Ya gotta love this Connecticut Warbler's attractive pose! Lycomech96 wrote in post #19432973 I took a walk in the local Game Lands and as soon as I parked the car, one of these was walking by the roadway. I know it's not a Wood Duck, but it will have to do. I checked the pond but there was no action. Beautiful ring-necked pheasant shots, Lycomech! My favorite is the second shot. LD, or Mike
