Two excellent shot, RAL! I like both the wings up and the wings down.

These are both exceptionally nice flight shots of the young red-tailed hawk Mark! You really nailed them nicely!

I think that's a cool looking vulture, Jose. You certainly captured him nicely!

Thanks Mike, appreciate the comment. Egyptian vultures are pretty cool looking birds, especially with their contrasting black and white plumage when in flight. Unfortunately they are becoming rarer to see.

Absolutely beautiful! I'm a sucker for a good combination of sharpness & softness, and you hit the sweet spot.

Terrific 5 shot series, Sid! Man, you're out there rain or shine. I certainly do admire that.

Thanks so much guys, really appreciated. cheers! :)

Mike, seeing as I work from and mainly around the property I give myself an hour, every afternoon that I'm able to, to go and sit in the peace and quiet at the hide. If that hour coincides with the rain, as it often does here in Wales, then that's what I get if I want to be out there, and I do! cheers! :)

Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea) (external link) by Paolo Dolina (external link), on Flickr

Large heron with rusty head and streaky neck; juvenile is extensively rusty brown on upperparts. Favors fresh marshes with tall reeds and other vegetation. Often more retiring than Gray Heron and rarely seen in open situations. Only likely to be confused with larger and bulkier Gray Heron, which is paler and grayer overall, with a stouter bill.

wow. impressed. although I have an R5, I had a 7D2 for years. I kinda miss a camera with a 7 in it.

Marvelous flight shot of the Say's Phoebe, EB

Thanks folks, appreciate the comments. I prefer the R5 handling and output, but the R7 can get stuff done too!

What a superb action pose! Love their positions complementing each other yet aligned. Well captured. Very nice.
