Oct 06, 2022 18:04 | #1009 ^ Yes it does, which is why I avoid IR portraiture. People in scenes far enough away from the main subject come out OK. But if IR people close-up isn't scary looking enough, you might not ever want to try UV portraits.

dasmith232 Senior Member More info | Oct 08, 2022 15:47 | #1011 I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with IR/UV/Full Spectrum. I converted my 60D and I think I'll mount it to my telescope at some point soon. In the meantime, I'm taking random pictures. Where I live, it's easy to stand in the middle of a street without any risk of getting run over. Centerline shots are easy to come by. This is called "Roller Coaster Road" and you can see why.

I took it out this evening with an IRChrome filter. The 16-80mm f4 lens and 55-200mm f3.8-4.5 lens both work quite well. I've rounded out my lenses for IR with a 14mm f2.8. Sure need to watch your step up there! Nice hike to that second straight-on shot. The geological history of the area is interesting. The canyon and all surrounding lands were carved out in single day megafloods tens of thousands of years ago. The waterfall is about all that remains of those events locally plus some scattered lakes in several surrounding states.
