I find photographing Kinglets really difficult, they just don't stand still. Finally caught one napping which made it really easy for me.:lol:

Very nice capture, Joe! Great color, and I really like this guy's beak open expression.

Thanks LD

Ashy Drongo (Dicrurus leucophaeus) (external link) by Paolo Dolina (external link), on Flickr

A slim, medium-sized drongo with bright red eyes and gray plumage that is almost black in the western parts of its range and quite pale in the eastern parts of its range; eastern birds also often have an oval-shaped pale facial patch. It has a long slim tail with a deep fork. Common in wooded habitats where it sallies for insects and aggressively chases other birds that may compete for food or nectar. Most birds migrate south every winter. Similar to Black Drongo, but slimmer and usually in different habitats. Calls include harsh and sweet notes, and can mimic some bird species poorly.

"Tern Diving" One of the main reasons I bought the Canon R7 is for its ability to do animal eye focusing, especially for bif. This is my 2nd attempt at bif, specifically a tern diving for greenback fish. The little splashes in the water in each pic is of the tiny greenbacks the tern is after. The pics aren't the best, I know, but maybe good enough for a "like" ... or maybe just a "meh!" Ha! I'll continue practicing. I'm posting three pics of it all together. Thanks for looking.

"Tern Diving", continued. This shot came a few frames after it entered the water. Anyone that's tried capturing birds diving at high speed know it's hard to track them and that's why the bird is off to one side in the frame. (Too bad he didn't catch anything.) My aim is to get good at this so hopefully, with a lot of practice, my skills and IQ will improve. Thanks for looking.
