Feeds on seeding bamboo. Green above with bright red rump and uppertail, pale blue underparts, and a whitish lower belly. Note the pinkish legs and thick black bill. I can almost feel this bird's discomfort. Lovely capture of the Eastern Towhee, sogs! I think these towhees are quite attractive birds. Beautifully captured shot, Steve! It really is an eye grabber. She stands out so nicely from the colorful blurred background. nardes wrote in post #19435615 A male Superb Fairy-wren (in deep shade) and a male Red-backed Fairy-wren taken at the Oxley Creek Common wetlands this morning. They are both tack sharp and so beautifully colored. LD, or Mike

The 600mm with the RF x1.4 is ideal for these small. flighty birds.
