Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Oct 18, 2022 19:12 | #19222 What an amazingly beautiful pigeon, RAL. Outstanding capture, and it's tack sharp. Beautiful wigeon shot, fotoi! Terrific sharpness and color. kd_reno wrote in post #19437298 ![]() What an appealing shot of the Brandt's Cormorant, Ken. It is such a 3D looking capture. His eye is such a deep blue looking color. It captures my attention immediately. Love it. I love this one, Tom! You really captured this guy so nicely. And the background is perfecto. steveb108 wrote in post #19437310 Well, someone is an outlier! This Blue Morph Snow Goose (also Blue Goose) took up with Canadas at a local lake. Wow Steve...what a beautiful eagle head. I've never seen one join up with a pack of Canadas before. I'm guessing, there's no snow geese around for this guy to join up with. It's really neat to see occurrences such as this, because they are a bit of a rarity. Two very pleasing shots, Kirk! You really got that camera down nicely at water level for the oyster catcher. What a nice sharp image of the snail kite, Joe. And it's got leg bands on both legs...very cool. dolina wrote in post #19437359 ![]() Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) Small snow-white heron with slender dark bill, blackish legs, and yellowish feet ("golden slippers"). Very nice capture, Ted! paul katinas wrote in post #19437391 Nanday Parakeet This Nanday Parakeet with different colored/textured feathers was spotted at our local Audubon feeding sanctuary. Happy trails. Very nicely captured, Paul. Is it possible that these different colored/textured feathers could be the sign of a juvenile bird? Love this shot,Rob! Thank you very much, Rich. Your thoughtful compliment is greatly appreciated. paul katinas wrote in post #19437229 Nice capture of the friendly Scrub Jay Mike. Those birds have the most interesting personality. Happy trails. Many thanks Paul. Both juvenile mockingbirds and scrub-jays have an incredible time chasing each other all around the neighborhood. It appears to be quite friendly yet very intense. It is so much fun watching these young jays and mockers engage in these chase games. I believe this is one of the ways that they improve their flying skills. kd_reno wrote in post #19437274 Nice one. The background really brings out the bird's colors. It's tough to get one with that much open space behind it. I really appreciate your thoughtful compliment, Ken. I took a number of shots of him, and this particular image had the background I was after. You're right about trying to get one with open space behind it. And you are very, very kind, Tom. steveb108 wrote in post #19437318 Really nice, Mike! That blue color just holds one's gaze. Many thanks, Steve. He hung around for quite some time, and I just kept firing away. When it was all said and done, this is the only image I ended up keeping. It certainly doesn't speak highly for my camera skills. Thank you sogs. avondale87 wrote in post #19437233 Mike that's really nicely captured. Beautiful composition, pose and feather details, against that lovely background. I'd suggest that's a stellar shot. Richard, your very kind compliment is truly appreciated. I thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness. LD, or Mike
