Post your nat'l park & monument photos!

Yeah there's a sign on the top of the hill past the entrance to "not climb onto arches" - In my 1.5 years here, I've only seen one person climb up on the side, but not on top of broken arch.... I've counted more illegal back country campfires than people going onto the arches.

That thing arch is called "Ribbon Arch" - you would need some serious technical climbing skills to get up to it as it's way up there with no straight forward work arounds.

Great shots!!! Does the park have signs there to not climb on the area in the second photo?? That one looks like it would break so easily and someone could get hurt but more importantly breaking that beam would be a horrible loss for eternity.

I am real glad it would not be an easy climb!!

Yeah I figured they would want a copy - I'm guessing there are not many shots like that so figured I'd hook 'em up! I suspect though - that lighting must strike close to the Arch as there's an outcropping you sort of hike around that catches the storms, as well as all the surrounding cliffs... Dicey!!!

This shot makes me think of a super hero movie, with the villain using some kind of energy weapon to destroy the earth, or in this case Canyonlands

That's hilarious!!! Yeah was totally worth just hanging out there....all the tourists ran off, so it was nice to have it to myself and just observe the weather changing! After that experience I finally decided to get a "real" winter jacket! just tryin to pick out an outer waterproof shell next!
