Finally articulated screen but with the A1 and R4 in my bag this does not have anything I need. I think there are some nice adds but I think they are odd for a 61mpx camera. R series to me is Landscape maybe studio so some of these features will get into the next A1 maybe.

Haven’t looked at the specs but since it’s almost the same price as an A1 it’s no deal for me. Might finally upgrade my R3 to an R4

Not at MSRP but the AF enhancements are a welcome upgrade for me since I'm still doing event/wedding work. A7C, for all its quirks as a pro body, has a really nice AF system. That said, a7rIV gets the job done....AF quirks on Sony body these days tend to be a matter of the lens these days (at least for me).

Generally I think gear has hit a mature point where what I have does what I need, so as long as I keep my impulsiveness occupied elsewhere, camera GAS is kept at bay lol. I did almost buy the Tamron 35-150 a few times this fall. It still a maybe, but I've rented the lens and don't see it replacing the Bigma/85GM combo for me though it is nice to use a single lens for the entirety of a shoot/event.

It's no deal for me right now, but I like several of the advancements and hope to see them migrate across the line.

-New LCD. Great design in my opinion. All I want is ability to flip up, down and use down low in portrait orientation for landscape and this one (finally) fills all those options while also working with L brackets.

-built in focus stacking. Program and go. I use stacking for macro and landscape regularly and I'd really like this for macro as the manual method is a little too involved for my taste.

-improved EVF. I really like the a1 EVF, but I haven't had any issues with any of the models, even the a7 and a7 III in real world.

-new bulb mode makes a lot more sense. I use a remote, so it's not a game changer or anything but a nice feature.

I think my favorite improvement is the LCD on this camera to be honest. I just can't come up with a reason I'd choose this over a used a1, but I also would want the benefit of a great wildlife camera, so I'm biased towards it anyway.

Your comments mirror my position on this new camera, lots of little things that they have improved on that would be a nice to have on my A1 but there is nothing compelling for me personally. For the type of shooting that I do the A1 is a much better choice.
