Nice shots. Too bad about the crowd. Around here rare birds attract a relatively small group, and the "usual suspects" all know each other and behave pretty well.

This is a very appealing shot, Steve! I like all the color.

Oh boy, Steve...This shot of the Brown-headed Nuthatch, is truly outstanding! Lovely setting.

Thanks for your comments on both, Mike!

Steve this one is so beautifully composed.
Agree on others comments. The setting is beautiful and surrounds certainly isn't intrusive.
Lovely little bird.

Thanks, Richard!

Beautiful color in the background.

Thanks, fotoi! The Fall colors help framing shots so much!

Thanks Ken.

In looking at region map for the Lewis's Woodpecker, it appears you are in what is labeled as a "year round" region.

Do you see these guys there regularly?

Awesome series Itsed and Tom.

I still have a lot of images to process from Tom's property. What a set-up he has. Made my visit to Arizona well worth it. These two were from his property.

Hi Peter...

So glad to see you got some "keepers" during your visit. These are really great, and now I think I'll go out in the yard for a while to see what I can come up with. :-D

This is a Savanna Vulture. The photo was taken at an event by the Owl Moon Raptor Center. They do fantastic rescue and rehab work.

Went chasing a Swamp Sparrow yesterday. They're very uncommon visitors around here and like to stay down in the vegetation. Staked this one out for over an hour and got a 20 second look. However, the Song Sparrows were popping up and posing all around us.

Beautifully captured.
Another shot of a lovely bird in a simple setting.
Interesting how its yellow rump shows even with its wings folded.
Striking birds

Thank you avondale87. They are beautiful.

Many thanks Mike.
We were surprised to discover the Whistling Parents were guarding 14 of those Bumblebee Ducklings.

Thank you for the most kindly compliment Mike.
Those Catbirds are hilarious to hear calling.
They meow just like a house Cat.

Superb close-up capture of the Savanna Vulture, Judy! They have quite a bit of color in their face and head...whereas our Turkey Vulture only had red.
