I accidentally had the s.s. too slow but I kind of like the blurred effect, it's how the eye actually sees it and it denotes speed.

I agree, although having something sharp, preferably an eye, does help viewers engage with the picture.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Interesting, it's cut off for me too. I can't find any forum settings that might control it. Perhaps monitor resolution has an affect. Mine is 3480 x 2160.

Thanks both, appreciate the comments. We have a lot of Brown Pelicans around here as they nest nearby in the Channel Islands, so I have to remember to take pics of them sometimes!
