We're into Autumn here in the UK and the colours are starting to change and the shadows are getting longer I'm pleased to say.
So I headed off to the North Yorkshire preserved railway on a day of unbroken sunshine.

A4 Pacific No. 4498 named after the great man himself "Sir Nigel Gresley" in wartime black livery soon to be in blue.

The Autumn colours really show in this shot of Standard Class 4 No. 80136 working hard.

This was the last shot of the day with 9F No. 92134 deep in the moors in the last light of the day.

A lone GP38-II returning to Rockland Maine. The CP no longer has the contract to operate this branch.

I was surprised to see an additional B-37 painted for Midcoast Railservice has arrived on the Rockland Branch. CP only kept one engine at a time working here. Nice to see a double header, almost like a real railroad :-)

The fleet of 22 ‘Deltics’ were the mainstay of the East Coast Main Line from 1962 to 1981. Powered by two Napier Deltic 18 cylinder opposed piston diesel engines, an engine that also powered various naval vessels. These included the Royal Navy’s Hunt class minesweepers and the Norwegian built ‘Nasty’ class which saw US Navy service for covert operations during the Vietnam War. Six locos of the class have been preserved.

55019 Royal Highland Fusilier entered service with British Rail in December 1961 and was based at Haymarket depot in Edinburgh. Withdrawn from service in 1981.

Pictured at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway.

I don't think these guys took lunch. LOL I have I think, 11 more shots of this whole process, but could not figure out how to post them all.
