This is the Male Variegated Fairy-wren and according to Birdlife.org.au, is the most widespread of the nine species of fairy-wrens found in Australia.

Cock fight! A came across a spectacular sighting in Botswana recently, of two male crested francolins in a fierce battle over the attention of a female. The two completely ignored my presence and fought each other for about 3 minutes. I was amazed at the aggression exhibited by both combatants. Thankfully I managed to come up with two images that I think tell the story.

Excellent captures, love it! I haven't seen any UFC in quite a while so a little fight action is a real treat.
