It was a calm,windless day and I noticed movement in the tall grass.
To my delight the Bittern continued hunting in my direction.:-)

Those Cranes are truly majestic creatures.

Often seen foraging for grass seeds on the ground, the Red-browed Finch usually occurs in flocks of up to 10 birds and sometimes more. They often forage with other seed-eating birds, especially other finches and parrots.

Red-browed Finches also often associate with small insectivorous species, especially family groups of Superb Fairy-wrens.

This particular group of Red-browed Finches were spotted in the Lamington National Park, near the O’Reilly’s Resort, foraging with several Crimson Rosellas. It was a tough job isolating these small birds from the much larger Rosellas, who kept photo bombing them.:-)
