I’ve been delaying my decision to sell off one of my 35mm lenses for a whole year now, but have finally finally finally and firmly decided to keep my Bigma and sell the phenomenal 35GM. Deciding factor? The 35GM fits into a USPS Priority box while the Sigma is way too big to fit. ;)

My 200-600mm and 1.4x TC are going up for sale within the month as well. I’ve been procrastinating way toolong on that one as well……

I hate the bother of selling stuff, but it feels great to get it done. :)

I need a 35mm...let's talk...I can't justify the 200-600 right now but I miss a fast 35 already.

Even with all of the crazy in life this year...I have been working on my work space at home to make it more functional. I got rid of my big giant custom made desk and replaced it with a smaller one, lighter in color, I also got a matching garage tool cabinet...sounds like a strange idea but it is perfect. It has great slide drawers, and I can pull up under the big one on top and use the counter to organize gear when preparing to go shoot. And this weekend I finally found the monitor I want, I got tired of dual screens, and went to one big 34" wide flat panel. I don't want a curved one, so most of the really wide ones are curved and that was a no go for me. It will take some getting used to, but it has enough real estate on it to open two windows at the same time, and since my desk is open, I can just slide in my chair one way or another to line up better with the primary work area. The reduced clutter on the desk is a bonus, and I am working on cable management...there are a lot of wires. The big cabinet also gave me a place for me turntable and receiver to sit, and being narrower than the bookshelves I had, I can fit my floor speakers next to it. Eventually some nice reference speakers will sit up there instead.

I have that same tool cabinet in my photo studio and love it.

Finally got round to shooting sunrise at the Tor on Auckland's North Shore. At last we had some colour to shoot after some pretty bland attempts the last few weeks. Also tried one in black and white

Nice Gary. My last few sunrise attempts have been full cloud or fully clear skies! Always nice on a work day though!

Today's gig was a Santa Claus event...not my gig to setup and decorate for, I was just hired to shoot it.
I did this event last year, and was really unsure about lighting and shooting something like this...I did a much better job this year I think. I shot tethered, which everyone loved so they could see the images after. I learned that when shooting tethered, the images are NOT saved to memory cards...yeah that made my heart stop when I put the card in and there was nothing...

working through the only two folders of images I have that are landscapes from this year...there are still a few little images to edit. I need to get back out into nature form some shutter therapy soon.

What's your place looks like now?

Here's what our place looks like now. This will last only one more week and gone. Shot a lot of portraits here yesterday. 6 hours of portrait. 18 families.

with my good old A7III and the beast(Sigma 105)

Our fall color is almost done...I had to cancel the two or three shoots I had while the wife was in the hospital, just couldn't hold the appointments, and I hated it. I have never had to do that.

I like the first one, but not the stick and dead leaves coming out of his shoulder. You are good at PS, I bet it can be fixed.
