Sorry - I'll have to desist from posting - or at least wrens
It's just too easy. Walk up to them, talk nicely and they put on their nicest behaviour

I could take orders :-P
What would you like? 2 males posing together, mum and two juniors, just mum, just dad....
Money for old rope as they say.

Seriously though I have never known such wonderful interaction between them and I :-)

How can you resist not photographing them?:-D

If YOU like the photo, that's all that matters!

This is a Noisy Friarbird taken in Toohey Forest in quite gloomy conditions. I was quite impressed at the IQ, given this is a full res crop at ISO 3200. The R5 and RF 100-500 are a superb combination.:-)

Noisy Friarbirds are conspicuous and active honeyeaters which are active in the outer canopy of flowering trees, especially eucalypts. They clamber about among the foliage, probing the flowers to feed on nectar, as well as gleaning lerps and manna. They also sally after flying insects.

Cheers

Dennis

In the deep gloom of Toohey Forest, I spotted this Red-browed Finch taking a drink at one of the last water holes remaining in this dry eucalypt forest.:-)

Lovely series Dennis.
They certainly came out very well.
Interesting behaviour by Friar.
Same as wattlebirds. Throw head back and sing to the world

Thanks Richard - I assumed he/she was just making sure that the insect he/she had just gobbled up had gone all the way down?:-)

Cheers

Oh man, they are just beautiful!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

the little wrens are growing quite quickly and certainly move about more.
It's quite comical watching them sit on a branch gazing about and snapping at the bees as they fly past.
The the wind nearly blows them off the branch they're on

This Sulphur-crested Cockatoo was feeding high up in the canopy and then took flight and I managed to grab a couple of frames. Tough shots as these birds are quick and erratic, no easy straight and level flight.:-)

#2 is a full res 1600x1600 crop.

Cheers

Dennis
