What's your place looks like now?

Here's what our place looks like now. This will last only one more week and gone. Shot a lot of portraits here yesterday. 6 hours of portrait. 18 families.

with my good old A7III and the beast(Sigma 105)

Beautiful. I absolutely love my region, but it is awful for autumn foliage. The only decent color is from the ornamental trees that have been planted by people, but the natural environment just sort of fizzles from verdant to nothing. As I look out my windows right now the trees either have green leaves (oaks, pear trees) or no leaves (hickories/pecans) with no autumn foliage to be seen. Even trees that have nice colors in other regions (poplar/tulip trees) fail to put on a show here.

Pretty accurate...we have a few big trees in our hood that are pretty, nice oranges and reds, some bright yellows, but I have no idea what they are. My yard is all oaks and poplars...so not great color, and even this year my one maple, just went green>light yellow>bare...it didn't even give me the reds and purples it usually does.

I like the first one, but not the stick and dead leaves coming out of his shoulder. You are good at PS, I bet it can be fixed.

I'll try. thanks.

Cool…love that background. It’s such a great lens, and I’m relieved to finally be down to just one great 35mm lens (Sigma 1.2 Art) after a long long long time of indecision. I’m definitely going to miss the ultra-light weight and the awesome sharp bite of the images with the 35GM.

Govee LED lights in my photo gear closet area

I was surprised at the size of it, I was expecting a bit bkgger but love the form factor of it. I don't see this one leaving my gear list.

I was so conflicted with my choice to have the 14 and 35 vs the 16-35 .... yes one lens is nice but the 35 is a special lens in and of itself and same really for the 14

cant wait to see your pics with it

If I am out hiking, it won't go...the 16-35 and 24-70 will. But for walk around, 35 is great, for the photo journalism stuff I do at the school, 35 is spot on the right FL. And if the ZA had not been so soft on the A1, I would have kept it. It was fine on the A7III and a9, but once the resolution stepped up, it really suffered. If you see much of what I do with this lens, it will be from the Lisbon trip in March. Most everything else is stuff I never share anywhere.

Glad all the 35’s on this thread have settled in new happy homes!!

I’m the same Travis, 35mm stays on camera for all stuff around the house and general family pics. But for any landscape stuff it’s either the 16-35 or the 24-105.

Just at the airport ready to board for Rome. The only thing I have on me, my phone, keys and camera with the 16-35! 8-)

Congrats!

Glad to see my old 35GM has stayed in the POTN fam lol.

Edit: its a great walking 35 and even though I settled on the Bigma and 35i, I found myself renting a 35GM for Hawaii last year because it's probably the best all arounder 35 for Sony

Family photo season in full effect so I'm actively shooting again.

I picked up a SAL 135 1.8 last year. I don't shoot 135 but put this to use last couple of shoots and am reminded of why I've always thought so highly of it for portraits.

Autumn is a big deal up here in our area, we are spoiled by autumn colour but it almost becomes an expectation that each year will be as great as the last, that sometimes isn't the case we have some years that are definitely better than others, cold nights in late/early October are the key.
I would trade autumn colour for a warm winter any day of the year:lol:
