A few shots from the Out of Africa wildlife park here in AZ. I was fortunate to be able to go into the area where the sable antelopes were and photograph the 1 day old newborn they just had. It was pretty amazing seeing it walk around and the herd protecting it. Not something they usually allow people to do. And a couple other shots as well. I was switching between the R5 with the 70-200 and the R7 with the 100-500

Firmware update can be done through EOS Utility. Maybe this helps the freezing issue!

Yes, that's the kind of thing that should improve with firmware updates. (No freezes here yet.)

FWIW I am definitely noticing that DPP exports are slower with the larger R7 files than with the 7D2 files.

for the first photo, the camera missed focus, and by the time it locked on correctly, the bird had already eaten the worm, so I had to use Topaz to sharpen the one with the worm.

I was testing Eye Focus on these Gulls as they waited for the Fish shop to open.
Light was rather poor but it seemed to capture ok. I was using 5 shot Bracketed Exposure - But I think I may have had the shutter repetition rate too slow because the birds were moving between clicks. Note to myself - Must try harder!

well, thanks to the excellent photos in this thread, I have an R7 on the way from B&H along with the EF/RF adaptor.

I have been reading Nina's book. Sections of it are like reading a physics textbook. It is an excellent resource, but I have to wonder, who is going to read all that and understand it?

Canon's manual is 963 pages, Nina's book 564 pages... plus if that is not enough, there are YouTube videos and detailed websites to help.

Or forget about all that and just use the defaults.
