This is a sign of the times, all the passengers using their phones to record the flight!

So true!
Even on commercial flights I see this all the time now.

Life viewed in two dimensions rather than being lived in three dimensions. I guess the recording is justified to see what they missed.

We do a lot of trial flying lessons and some are more interested in getting their video and pictures than they are using the controls and flying the aeroplane! Mind you sometimes it is just so beautiful up there that even I get my phone out!

So what's the problem? The "Out the Airplane Window" thread in this forum is full of shots taken by airplane passengers, many taken with phone cameras, and many by people who post in this thread too. If the people in Phoenixuk's shot were holding professional ILCs with white lenses, would you laugh at them too and accuse them of viewing life in two dimensions?

No, it’s just that society walks around now with their phone cameras stretched out in front of themselves everywhere they go.
I didn’t write that as a dig against anyone, once in a blue moon I pull out my phone and snap a picture or a quick video while in a flight too.

My point was that I travel quite a bit commercially and I have witnessed on numerous occasions people sitting in their seats with their phone in their hands videoing the entire flight or taking selfies every time a cloud passes the window or they reposition in their seat, it’s a bit ridiculous, that’s all.

Again, my comment wasn’t meant to be a swipe at anyone or projected in a mean or offensive way. I apologize if you took it that way.

I'm usually not into the over processed look, but it really works for me with this.
