thanks Steve. I can't believe this is a $500 lens. Well, $1,000 actually, since I had the 1.4 t/c attached.

Thanks Mike. Got this one in Marin County. Lots of flowers and hummers.

where can I see pics without the TC?

Outstanding shot of this beautiful looking Crested Caracara, Bill! Very sharp image, and it stands out quite nicely.

Very sharp image, Kirk! I really like the intensity of this bird's stare.

Nice capture. Ted. The vulture should be advised to maintain a safe distance from the eagle.:-)

I like the alert pose of the hen wood duck, fotoi! Very nice sharpness and detail!

Stunning, Ken! Gorgeous color!

What a lovely, colorful image, Paul! Very attractive.

Many thanks Mike.
The critters like those showy berries.
When crushed they emit a smell similar to wintergreen.

Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo ~ Calyptorhynchus funereus
a group of these lobbed up at lunch time and muttered away outside the house.
I wandered out and grabbed a few photos before they eventually flew off.
This is right outside our house about 10 metres from it

A huge crop with this one. Why do I always have the "wrong" lens on my R5? :-) I thought there was only one sparrow when I took the photo. Got it on the iMac and realised there were four. Needed my longer lens.

Thanks, Mike. I just hope I didn't over sharpen it. Over sharpening seems to be a common mistake in editing and I used to be really bad at it. Yep, those ospreys have quite the stare ... and talons! ;-)a

I went back to the same bridge as yesterday and to my surprise there was another great egret underneath it but I used my exp. comp. this time. I think they came out better (still a tough balancing act between sharpness & NR) and I snatched a shot of a brown pelican approaching a snowy egret. A headless snowy egret. (they're very common around these parts)
