These moths hover like hummingbirds when feeding. See here for the European species (external link). There's also a whole genus of similar moths (external link), often called hummingbird moths, including some found in the Americas.

A Swallow perched on the powerlines at the front of our house. Taken from our back garden, some 25-30 metres away.

Canon RF 600mm F4 with x2 RF Extender to give 1200mm.
