Local Dollarbirds a few weeks ago. A bribe for sex in the 2nd photo. Semi successful. She eventually took the offering.
He did then mount her, way too briefly to achieve anything though.

I agree with Richard! Great photos!
So difficult to get them not sitting high up on a powerline!

our juvenile Grey Fantail ~ Rhipidura albiscapa is highly entertaining and flits about doing loop the loops right in front of me
It does stay still for a moment then off again
Such fun to watch
These are early morning with nice light

Thanks Dennis
They'd have to be the most entertaining birds I know.
Some parrots are perhaps a very close equal.

Ulrike both these are beautiful, particularly in that setting.
Interesting markings on the cuckoo.
Both very striking in their own unique way.

I see the poor female Mistletoe is not so well attired.

Thanks, Richard! I probably wouldn't recognise a female mistletoe bird as, yes, they are quite 'bland' ;-)a

A lot of rain currently around Darwin, and not many opportunities to go birding. That makes it more special when you finally capture something you have been looking for for some time. Little Kingfisher at Casuarina Coastal Reserve :-)
