Cerro Castellan is a peak in the western portion of Big Bend National Park. There was a 27% waxing crescent moon illuminating the landscape. This is a stack of 7 20-second exposure photos using Sequator to remove the noise in the sky. I also used the foreground from one of the 7 photos as the stacked version didn't look right and I couldn't get it worked out in either LR or PS.

Edited to add that Big Bend NP is, according to the National Park Service, the darkest place in the lower 48 states. In 2012, Big Bend National Park was awarded International Dark Sky Park status by the International Dark-Sky Association.

You got a good capture of the peace and tranquillity of Big Bend. One of my favorite places.
Thanks for sharing!

Great shot. I just got back from there and have some pics to process. Hopefully they turn out as well!

It's a special place. Were you there for the snowfall?

We actually left a day early so we didn’t get stuck there. We were in alpine when the snow hit.

That would have been a spectacular thing to see, but Big Bend is not a good place to be stranded!

Couldnt agree more and add in the fact we were over 10 hours from home so it was a no brainer.
