Excellent wood duck capture, fotoi!

Nice 4 bird series, Kirk! All are done nicely.

Fantastic capture, Ted! Certainly not a commonly seen event.

Very nice, Rich. I especially like the color version.

What a lovely shot, SYS! You composed it so nicely!

Thanks Mike. I am fortunate to have captured the behavior twice and 12 years apart.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Beautiful shot of the Grebe!

Excellent capture!

Nice shot! I like the background.

They never look happy. Nice one!

Great capture! Looks like there's three there.

Good shot of the Flicker!

That's a beauty!

Thank you, sogs! It can look like three but I'm pretty sure it's just two. I think the upper one is a female and she appears to be pretty huge.

Richard...what an amazing close-up of the Superb Fairy Wren! She is tack sharp, and you brought her to life on the screen! You also composed her very nicely!

Double-decker Great Horned Owls. Shooting owls in pines is always a challenge so I felt extremely lucky getting a decent look at the one.

And Happy New Year to all!

I thought three at first but soon figured that the "surplus" at the left was probably a partly spread wing.

Beautiful photo
Would they have caught such a big bird or just taking advantage of it's demised state?

Just cleaning up after something else I believe. This is Osoyoos Lake in BC, Canada and it has recently had a record breaking cold snap which froze everything up tight other than one narrows with bridge. This place has the next strongest current and just opened up a couple days ago and all the geese have been here. There seems to be a couple new dead ones every morning so not sure if it is the Bald Eagles or if there is another critter out on the ice during the night or if they are just succumbing to the cold/lack of feed? There are two other geese out there today with very unusual behaviour as well?
