It was a fun day hiking in the various conditions!! Everything from red clay like mud, to slush, to ice, to a few inches of snow, to trying not to slide with sand ontop of rock = unpredictable ball-bearing like surface that "could" be fine, or... not so much!!

I bought those "Yaktrax" diamond shaped spikes - well worth the $40, especially on those big step downs where - things could go very bad!!

So if you visit in dec-feb - don't forget your spikes!! What's funny is outside of the devils garden, from distance - you won't see any snow and think: "what winter!?" - but the trail there is mostly in the shadows and therefor tends to retain the snow/ice/fun!

The snow ads something special to it, gorgeous.

Appreciate it!! was sort of a "dicey" hike in some spots but not too bad - ambient temps were above freezing so it made it more unpredictable at times

Very nice images. As someone else mentioned, the snow adds a nice touch.

Thank you)) It's Dargavs - medieval Ossetian necropolis, now a museum. It's in Russia, Caucasus, North Ossetia republic.

Yes, historical one. Now it is closed and serves as a museum, but the bones are still in those crypts

I enjoy all your photos, but that first one is just exceptionally beautiful with the way you caught the light.
