I picked up a refurbished 85mm f/2.0 when Canon offered a significant holiday discount. I'm currently testing it. The image quality is very good, but I still have mixed feelings about the lens. The AF can get a bit indecisive at times. Using the focus limiting switch helps (if I remember). If I had paid full retail for the lens, I would have sent it back.

These three were all dressed up, as if going to the ball! Lake O' the Pines.

It was so fun shooting this group of trees knee deep in the freezing surf. It was so cold and windy that I was covered in ice. Good thing I was dressed for it.

You live in a beautiful country, Marcial.

Yes Dillan, that's right!. I'm just trying to get out and know it better, oportunities for landscape photos here are unlimited, photography is a good excuse to travel around.

They both say 29mm so I'm guessing the second shot is a crop of the first. I like the wider view of the first shot but the larger mountains in the second. Do you have a vantage point to take the first shot with a longer lens to get the distance compression a telephoto gives.

Only if you bring the blasting material and get me a jet pack

I would totally love to have something around 70-100 mm but it's just not physically possible... I've walked just about every radius from that angle...

If you pull it up on google earth - basically you're just limited to a ledge area that's almost as tall as the arch - so just getting further away then puts that ledge in your way (I posted one from a distance if you go back a few pages)

Thanks for the explanation. I did try google earth. Didn't find that particular spot. Maybe, if I knew the area well, which I don't. I had to start from "I think it's western US area" :-)
